Metis Preview
over 5 years ago – Mon, Aug 20, 2018 at 07:55:28 AM

We are nearing on Callisto, so let's take a look at the moon beyond. Once we reach $3750 we will add the Metis chapter to Imperial Jupiter as well as new material in the Equipment, Ecology, and Organizations chapters. Including:

-The forest moon of Metis and important sites such as the Haunted Forest, the First Tunnels, and the United Metisian Training and Recruitment Hub.

-More information on the Metisians themselves, their culture, language, and technology.

-The Seventh Limb, a resistance hidden within the Metisian Guard that seeks to overthrow both their Europan masters and their own leaders. The Seventh limb's primary goal is to free Metisians from oppression and a key part of that is returning the species to biological reproduction.

-New alien creatures native to the forests of Metis such as the flying death gnasher, the flesh borer, and the only animal the Metisians took into their underground refuges, the slug-hound!

-Metisian technology such as the Europan made thirty-six limbed war suit, the gravitic pulse sled, and the personal flight suit.

As an additional bonus, we will add two new species to the Solar System of Rocket Age. Both the Anakians and the Thebans are newly inducted client species of the Europans. Members of both species are in training on Metis and are ready to announce themselves to the larger Solar System.

-Anakians, these angelic beings are roughly humanoid with large gossamer wings, skins the color of the void, and large luminous eyes. Their home moon is not Ananke, but the larger moon that was broken into the fragments astronomers call the Ananke group. Capable of surviving the rigors of life in the vacuum, the Anankians have managed to hold out for centuries as refugees scattered across the lesser moons of Jupiter. The Europans plan to replace their Metisian pilots with these natural fliers.

-Thebans do not look like other sentient species, but they managed to evolve high intelligence without ever needing to develop tool use. These two-meter long caterpillar-like creatures are covered in thick fur with their heads ending in a mass of flexible tentacles. These tentacles evolved to help the Thebans find food and tunnel through the icy moonlets and rings of Jupiter. They developed culture and language to enable them to better work together, especially when a nest migrates to another moonlet. The Thebans are being groomed by the Europans to become laboratory assistants and bureaucrats.
